Horsehead Nebula

Description
This is the Horsehead Nebula (IC434), an iconic cloud of dust silhouetted against glowing ionized hydrogen (shades of red) in the constellation Orion. This beauty captured my imagination when I first saw it on PBS astronomy shows as a preschooler. I'm so thrilled to finally have the equipment to image and see it for myself! This image combines 8 hours of five-minute and ten-minute exposures from an 8" reflector telescope, taken from my Indiana backyard in January 2022. If you buy one of these prints, I'll also send you watermark-free backgrounds for a desktop (16:9 desktop: perfect for Zoom calls!) and iPhone/Android (19.5:9).
