Triangulum Galaxy (Messier 33)

Description
This is the Triangulum Galaxy (M33), a large spiral galaxy in our 'Local Group' of nearby galaxies. (The most famous and largest local group galaxy--after the Milky Way--is Andromeda.) Like Andromeda, the Triangulum Galaxy is close enough that you can see bright emissions nebulas (ionized hydrogen) as bring pink regions. While the fate of M33 is uncertain, it is thought to be spiraling in to eventually merge with its larger neighbor Andromeda. This image combines 16 hours of imaging in 2023 and 2024 from my Indiana backyard. Technical details at: https://www.astrobin.com/189jiu
